Care and support services

We provide a wide range of not-for-profit, flexible care and support services for adults and vulnerable local people (not just Octavia tenants) to help them to stay as active and independent as possible. From support services at home to sheltered housing with 24 hour on call help.

If you or someone you know might benefit from our high quality care and support services, visit octaviasupport.org.uk or contact our Care and Support team using the details at the bottom of this page, a summary of our services are also below:

Day care and activities - providing friendly and secure places for local older people to socialise, get a home cooked hot meal and access a wide range of low-cost activities and services that promote independence, wellbeing and quality of life. Members can get involved as much or as little as they want to.

Home adaptationswe offer a home adaptations service to Octavia tenants who are finding it difficult or unsafe to move around their home, use the stairs or use the bathroom. Visit the Home adaptations page for more details.

Outreach service - for people over 50 living in Westminster who may be lonely or feel isolated. An outreach worker can help you to join in with activities in the community - there are hundreds to choose from.

Befriending service - London can be a lonely place, particularly for older members of our communities. If you or anyone you know is over 50 in Westminster or 18+ in RBKC and lonely or isolated we introduce you to a volunteer befriender who shares your hobbies and interests. They can arrange to spend time with you for an hour a week, at home or somewhere else if you prefer.

Floating support for Octavia residents who wish to remain in their homes, but may require some assistance with general tasks such as:

  • talking to you about physical or mental health concerns
  • accessing local health services
  • managing money, benefits and debts
  • keeping your house safe and secure.

Sheltered housing and housing for people 50 and over - Octavia have a number of sheltered and extra care schemes that can offer tenants the indepenednce of their own flat, but with the security of knowing they can contact a mobile warden for help if they need it. If you are interested in moving to one of these flats, you can ask to go onto our transfer list or find out more on our Moving home pages.
