Keyworkers and intermediate rent
Intermediate rent is where you can rent a brand new or refurbished home at less than the market rate (usually 20 to 30 per cent lower than private landlord rates).
Traditionally, only key workers were able to use this option however, we are now able to offer this possibility to other local home seekers who do not qualify for social rent homes and who cannot afford to buy a home of their own outright. Priority for these properties is usually decided by the local authority in which the property is located. We recommend that anyone interested in this type of renting contact their local authority or the one in which the property is located so their eligibility can be assessed. It is also worth registering on www.housingoptions.co.uk to ensure that you are invited to view any properties for which you are eligible.

Intermediate rent is a great housing option for people who are not ready to commit to buying a home or who have difficulty securing a mortgage at the moment. Intermediate rent homes are usually let on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy basis with a 6 month contract period.
If you are already an Octavia Housing resident on a keyworker or intermediate rent basis, you can benefit from all of the services we offer, using the enu to the left.
