Get involved collectively
The Board
Tenants make up a third of our Board and take part in various sub-committees. Tenants go through an open recruitment process and are there to act in the best interests of Octavia Housing.
The Tenant Steering Group (TSG)
The Tenant Steering Group is a forum of 15 tenants, who are elected or co-opted to represent tenant interests. The Group meet regularly to discuss our policies and services. The Tenant Steering Group is invited to take part in service reviews.
Resident groups and forums
We actively encourage residents to form and get involved in resident associations or groups in their areas. We can provide funding and other resources to get groups started and to help them run smoothly. We provide training or pay for members to take part in courses run by external organisations.
We also support the groups and forums set up by our residents in sheltered, supported and residential care accommodation. Several of our schemes have their own forum or members’ committee and the Sheltered Housing Forum has eight elected representatives and meets quarterly. The Quest Day Centre has a Members’ Committee.

Resident conferences
We invite all residents to take part in our regular residents’ conference.
The Consultative Pool
The Consultative Pool is a list of tenants who have told us that they would like to take part in one-off consultations rather than committees or groups. People on this list have already helped us review and improve a number of our policies and services. We consult them:
- on the phone
- by survey
- by getting them to comment on reports
- by inviting them to join a focus group.
