Octavia helped make tenant Christina Roser's home more energy-efficient.
‘I moved to London in 1964,’ says Christina. ‘When the bedroom tax came, I moved from my old two-bedroom flat to this place.’
Before Christina moved in, Octavia had retrofitted her new one-bedroom flat – classified as a hard-to-heat property – to make it more energy efficient. The works included internal wall insulation, secondary glazing, draft exclusion and low-energy lighting.
‘It’s warm, oh yes,’ she says. ‘When the heat comes on late at night it’s lovely.’ Her property is economical to heat, too, she adds: ‘The energy bills are manageable. My last bill was for electricity - £38 for the quarter.’
