Handyman service

If you are over 60 and need some repairs to your home then you could benefit from our free handyman service.

Octavia Housing are working with Silver Saints, a leading, home maintenance provider to supply tenants over 60 years of age a free handyman service. The service is for all those small jobs that are normally the tenants’ responsibility. All repairs that are normally the responsibility of Octavia Housing will continue to be completed by our usual repairs service but the Silver Saints handymen

Bookings can be made by you the tenant, your carers, GP, Family, Friends or you can contact your neighbourhood officer or someone else at Octavia to make the booking for you.

If you contact Silver Saints directly, they will double check with us that you meet the eligibility criteria before confirming the job. All the handymen have been CRB checked and they can visit you up to three separate times in one year for free.

On every job, you will be given a feedback form to access the service level you have received. This helps us to see how well the service is working.

  • Unblocking toilets and sinks
  • Repair faulty toilet flushes and dripping taps
  • Shower heads and hoses, rails and curtains
  • Bleeding radiators
  • Connect washing machines and dishwashers
  • Fitting replacement plugs and fuses
  • Fitting and replacing low energy lightbulbs
  • Fit or repair repair spotlights and extractor fans
