Planned cyclical maintenance of properties
As well as carrying out your day-to-day repairs, we also plan some work in advance. This is because:
We will tell you in advance if we are planning work on your home or estate. If possible, we will also ask you about your choice of colours or finishes.
Because planning work in this way makes us more efficient, if you tell us about a non-urgent or routine repair, we always check first to make sure we are not already planning to do the work in the near future. If the work is part of our planned programme, we will let you know as soon as possible and may ask you to wait.
To make sure that the gas appliances in your home are safe, the law says that we must carry out a safety check every year. Our contractors carry out this check as part of our regular gas servicing programme.
To service and check your gas appliances, we need you to give us access to your home. This is something you agreed to when you signed your tenancy agreement.
We must and will check all our gas appliances. If you fail to let us in, we will have to take legal action and you will be charged our costs. We will take this action, because the law makes us responsible for the safety of you and your household.
Our surveyors will inspect your home and the external parts of blocks of flats at least once every 5 years to ensure that the planned and cyclical work we do is carried out where it is needed most.
