Clear large items of refuse

  • No large dumped bulk items including furniture (where present this will be reported)

Roads, paths and other hard areas are clean

  • No litter.
  • No piles of leaves and wind-blown rubbish.
  • Gutters swept.

Refuse stores and hoppers are clean and functional

  • No bad odours in refuse stores.
  • Floors free of litter and waste material.
  • Hoppers reasonably clean and in good repair.

Litter bins an recycling containers are in good order

  • In good repair and hygienic.
  • Recycling areas tidy and containers look cared for.

Refuse stores are clean and tidy

  • No loose refuse in store.
  • Floor clear of hazardous waste and tidy.
  • No excessive smells or insect presence.

No graffiti or unauthorised bills

  • No graffiti or unauthorised handbills / stickers (except those that are clearly new and await attention).

Lawns, beds and other planted areas

  • Free of litter or other wind-blown rubbish

Areas being used as intended

  • No signs of areas being abused.
  • No stairs, landings or corridors obstructed by tenants' belongings (where present this will be reported).

Floors

  • Evident that floors are swept carefully at frequent intervals.
  • No litter and small bits.
  • No piles of dust or debris in corners and along skirting
  • Evident that floors are being washed carefully at reasonable intervals
  • Clearly swept before being washed

Walls and balustrades are clean

  • Look clean overall and do not appear patchy or smeared.
  • No noticeable cobwebs or unsightly dust.

Communal doors are clean

  • Look clean overall.
  • Glass is clear and free of smears.
  • Handles look clean.

Internal windows are clean

  • Glass, frames and sills appear clean and cared for.

Lighting in good order

  • Lights are working (any faults will be reported)

  • Communal light covers or shades are cleanm no noticeable dust or cobwebs

Garage and parking areas well maintained

  • Free of removable oil deposits, old batteries, car parts, etc.

Cars and vans not causing any problems

  • No abandoned, untaxed or obstructive cars or vans.
  • Clear when parking is not allowed.

Play areas are clean

  • Free from piles of leaves and wind-blown rubbish. Free of litter.

Signs and noticeboards in good condition

  • Signs and notices can be read and have a cared-for appearance.
  • No missing or redundant signs.
  • Noticeboards in good condition.

Utility facilities in good order

  • Electricity sub-stations secure and look cared for.
  • Telecoms facilities including cabling, in good order and secure.

Estate storerooms offices and similar building in good order

  • All buildings are accessible to staff.
  • Buildings present cared for appearance with no significant repairs needed.

Windows are clean

  • Glass, frames and sills appear clean and cared for.

Lifts are clean

  • Walls and floors and control panels are clean and cared for. No stickers, handbills or messy residues from old stickers.
