Update on fire safety
The Building Research Establishment (BRE) have completed a second round of combustibility tests on cladding systems from various buildings in the UK. None of the tests replicate systems in place at any of our buildings but we do have one property with a similar cladding system in place.
The latest tests were carried out on a system which uses Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding with polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam insulation, which is a different, less fire retardant form of insulation to the one used at our building.
Nevertheless, our course of action remains. Resident safety is our most important priority. We are continuing to establish a controlled and managed way forward for the cladding. These latest results and all updates from The Department of Communities and Local Government, as well as investigation works ongoing with our contractors, all help to inform those discussions.
The fire brigade have given assurances as to the safety of the building and we continue to have 24/7 fire watch wardens on patrol for added reassurance.
We are keeping residents informed but if anyone has further queries or concerns, we are urging them to call us on 020 8354 5500 or visit our website for the latest updates.
