Your chance to get fitter, richer and happier

7273 cycling campaign a6 postcards artwork original

Brent Council has launched a campaign to get people to discover the joys of cycling.  Over the summer, there will be a range of events including the following:

  • Bike Try-Out zones – Come along and try a unicycle, a tandem, a road bike, a mountain bike or any one of a range of bikes. If you already have a bike, come along and get it fixed for free by ‘Dr Bike’. Plus there will be freebies at all of their events!
  • Family guided bike rides - Take the whole family on a guided bike ride around Brent.
  • Cycle training - There is cycle training for anyone over the age of 9 (including adults!) who lives, works or studies in Brent
  • Competition to win a bike worth £300 each month in July, August and September -The competition is open to children too and you don’t need to live in Brent to enter.

Best of all, all the events are FREE. All detailed information on the above (time, dates, location) is on our new cycling webpage, www.brent.gov.uk/cycling

Brent has some of the highest levels of childhood and adult obesity in the whole country, as well as huge levels of inactivity. Brent roads are congested. Cycling can help with all these problems.
