Kenley Walk Hall Association
Wilsham Street Estate project
The
Kenley Walk Hall Association was formed through a partnership between
Octavia and residents on and around the Wilsham Street Estate, W11. The
Community Hall at the heart of the estate was refurbished and a
decision taken to hand over its management to a committee of local
residents.
Volunteers were supported though training in a range
of skills and the association was formally constituted in August 2000.
Funds raised from the first and second Summer Fun Day events were
donated to the association to add to the money raised independently by
the committee.
Kenley Walk Hall Association is now independent
of Octavia and provides a variety of local services including hosting a
day nursery, bingo nights, social events for young and older people and
day trips. The Hall is available for hire and the funds are used to
finance the upkeep and running of the Hall.
