Some of you may remember the crush at the end of the 2003 Summer Funday when we tried to stage the DJ. Competition. In the end we had to postpone the event but we promised we'd hold it as soon as we could.

The competition was staged during March 2004 in partnership with the Lancaster Youth Centre, Lancaster Road W11, where a load of young people displayed their talents in the hope of winning nearly £1000 worth of DJ equipment.

The Centre has a fantastic track record of working with young people and they house the latest equipment for people to learn to mix and engineer their own music!

The competition brought young tenants from West, Central and even South West London and all the entrants were filmed for a DVD production by Lancaster Youth Centre. In the event we had to run two separate competitions, one for DJ's and the other a general Talent Quest.

The winners were:

• DJ - Christopher Mina (Chris won 2 Technics 1210 decks and a mixer)
• Talent Quest - Lyrical Rebelz (Rebelz won 2 Gemini decks and a mixer)

The 3 Runners up all received a £50 cash prize donated by Lancaster Youth Centre.
