Workshop in W9
This
workshop was based upon the highly acclaimed book “How to Talk so Your
Kids will Listen and How to Listen so Your Kids will Talk”. The
workshop is run by an experienced Parent Counsellor (who is also a
qualified Teacher & Trainer) and was tailored to the needs of our
tenants, predominantly in W9. It was developed on the basis of the
research findings of Paddington Development Trust, discussions with
local tenants, the association’s Welfare Officer and the Head Teacher
at the Dorothy Gardner Centre W9 (Early Years Centre of Excellence).
The
workshop started with 7 participants and suffered a few expected
dropouts. Of the 4 Octavia tenants that completed, 2 have progressed to
the Early Years Care and Education NVQ2 (and another to training as a
Prison Officer!). Testimonies to the effectiveness of the workshop were
provided by participants and published in the News Magazine.
