Need support to stay in your home?

With funding from local government Supporting People budgets, we’ve set up a special team to support some of our more vulnerable residents.

The funding means that team leader Muhammet Cankiran and support workers Rachel Hally, Cynthia Bakare, Emah Butler and Noelle Rault can support:

  • around 120 sheltered scheme residents in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster
  • nearly 150 vulnerable residents living in our general housing in Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Brent and Camden.

The team aims to help residents continue living independently by:

  • helping them to manage their finances and claim benefits
  • assisting with form filling, letter writing and handling bills
  • putting them in touch with other agencies, such as meals on wheels, home helps and occupational therapists
  • making sure they get the service they need from the health service, for example from their GP, district nurse or the psychiatric services
  • improving their security awareness, for example by inviting the police to give a talk.

Up until now the team have supported 264 people, many of them otherwise isolated, so we’re proud of our achievements so far.

The service we provide is regularly checked by the local authorities that fund us and we have to show we offer the right support to each resident.

If you or another of our residents could benefit from this service, call our offices and ask to speak to the Support Team.
