Befriending
Up to 50 of our elderly residents living in the Church Street area will benefit from a befriending project set up in November by the Octavia Foundation in partnership with Age Concern Westminster.
Age Concern have been running befriending schemes for many years, with the aim of providing much-needed company for older residents who may feel isolated or lonely.
Our scheme is putting resident volunteers in touch with some of our elderly residents, os that they can offer companionship and support for up to an hour a week. Volunteers stay for a cup of tea and a chat or go out for a walk, to the shops or possibly to something more adventurous like a trip out for the evening.
