Octavia housing update

Tenants' survey - main results

Earlier this year Ipsos MORI, an independent research agency, carried out a survey of residents on our behalf so that we can see what residents think and how we can improve on the services we provide. Compared to the results of a similar survey in 2005, satisfaction has increased on almost all key service areas. Nevertheless these increases are relatively small, and we would like to do even better in the future.

The main results* compared to our survey in 2005 were as follows :

Key results 2005 2010 weighted* 2010 unweighted**
Overall satisfaction with landlord services 66% 68% 69%
Satisfaction with repairs and maintenance  63%  65%  66%
Satisfaction with overall quality of home  74%  74%  76%
Satisfaction with condition of property  69%  69%  71%
Satisfaction with views being taken into account  Not asked  50%  49%
Ratings of Octavia Housing as good at keeping tenants informed  78%  76%  77%
Satisfaction with neighbourhood as a place to live  76%  80%  80%
Satisfaction with final outcome of contact  53%  55%  56%
Satisfaction with helpfulness of staff  74%  75%  76%
Likelihood of recommending Octavia Housing as a Landlord  Not asked  63%  65%

* In line with STATUS guidance, the satisfaction scores are calculated by adding
‘very satisfied’ and ‘fairly satisfied’ responses together and as a percentage of all responses (neutral responses are included in the calculation).

** Unweighted results are based on all responses received attaching the same importance to each response, and weighted results are arrived at by giving responses a relative importance to reflect the profile of the overall tenant population.

More detail on the results will be in our tenants annual report later this year. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey, we really do need to know what your views are so we can provide a good service. We will be working closely with the Tenants Steering Group on our improvement plans and will keep you informed of progress. You can see more of our performance information here.
