Volunteer Co-ordinator (fixed term contact to 30 June 2011)
The Octavia Foundation is a registered charity that provides support to tenants of Octavia Housing and the local community in order to improve their quality of life. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable person to deliver our volunteering programme which includes a volunteer befriending project for older and vulnerable people, a mentoring project for unemployed residents and support in recruiting volunteers for our chain of charity shops in central and west London.
Joining a charity that is embarking on the next exciting stage of its work in supporting local communities in central and west London, you will be ready to hit the ground running. In addition to helping deliver our existing volunteering programme, you will help develop new initiatives. You will need to have experience of managing and supporting a wide range of volunteers, project management and administrative systems. Being a real team player and empathy with our client groups will be as important as your ability to deliver our programme to a high standard.
